My experience shooting features is less artistic expression than it is capturing the person. There’s nothing special about Sheriff Corona sitting on a bench, or John Raitt seated in a chair, and Quincy Jones in mid conversation won’t get me into the Louvre.

But the images fit their stories, and that’s what’s important when an editor wants something more than a ten year-old handout image from a publicist.
